Large Cup Ceramic
by Jérôme Hirson
diameter 13,5cm / height 7cm
Hand build black ceramic cups made in France in a quiet place. Made of a rough clay and partially covered with a shiny black glaze to create a subtle contrast between the textures.
Discover these beautiful black ceramic cups at M AAH. These larger bowls are handmade in France, in Jérôme Hirson's atelier. The French ceramist hand builds all his ceramic objects, whether they are utilitarian or sculptural. To appreciate a work of art, it is not necessarily essential to know its creator, and to appreciate Jérôme Hirson's ceramics, it is not really necessary to meet the potter.
The shaped pieces speak for themselves in unison, and we are immediately struck by a certain number of blatant choices expressed in the form of a manifesto: simplicity and rusticity of form, the colours of time and the seasons, the absence of decorative devices, materials that are alternately soft to the touch or rough in their expressiveness. To hold a bowl of Jérôme Hirson in your hand is to suspend time.

Sculpture Stoneware
by Léa Munsch
diameter 46cm / height 32cm
Hand sculpted Tamarout sculpture, numbered and signed made in France by artist Léa Munsch. She explores an ancient and instinctive bond with materials originating from the Earth.
She draws from nature to give shape to an abstract, architectural, raw and natural world.
From her studio, an ever-evolving cast of ageless forms emerges, sculptures born at the crossroads where art and architecture meet. Like an archeological endeavor that blurs the lines of time, her sculptures seem to come from an ancient future.
Her pratice is expanding to encompass the primordial triade, clay, wood and stone.
She is drawn to the cultures imagined by ancient civilizations long before our era began, as well as prehistoric art, for the profound connection between art, life, and nature they represent.
Léa Munsch lives and works in Lorraine, in eastern France, where she's taken over a space in a former factory perched on a river at the heart of a forest.Only fifteen pieces have been made of the Tamarout table sculpture. Each piece is signed and numbered. Find piece 1/15 at M AAH. Hand sculpted by the talented French artist in a natural pink ceramic, more specifically stoneware clay. Perfect in its own imperfection.
The sculpture on the picture is the intention. Each piece that Léa sculpts will be unique with its own personality and marks. She likes this process because it makes he come back to the shape. Each time, is a new exploration of the shape. The occasion to look at it with new eyes. To see, feel and understand it more acutely while sculpting it. The gestures, the emotions, the time, the intention, the energy are all parts of her that become part of the piece.

Tray Gypsum Metal
by Ariane Prin
diameter 22cm / height 6cm
Metal unique tray made of gypsum and recycled metal particles
Product designer Ariane Prin keeps on developing and making RUST, the studio’s first homeware collection launched in 2015 during the London Design Festival. She then introduced the RUSTILES as part of the "Material of the Year" installation at the London Design Fair in 2017.
The RUST range is created by mixing metal particles originating from key cutting and other metalworking workshops across London, with gypsum and acrylic.
No two items can be the same: each being made by hand and the metal dust oxidation giving a unique texture, varying in colour and intensity.
It takes time to make RUST, that is considering the oxidation period – from weeks, to months – and the high variability of the process.
All items – Timepieces and Mini cachepots – are coated to reduce further oxidisation. However, the material may continue to change slowly over time. The tray is not food safe, neither dishwasher safe. Clean with a soft damp sponge and dry with a soft cloth. Handmade in London and has a matt and soft finish.

Belgian designer Marlies Huybs creates handmade objects, which are the result of an intuitive and spiritual process.
The imaginative journey is just as important as the destination. Her items grow steadily from her love for the matter and its colours. Every piece reflects the wayward beauty of her poetic visual language. Irregular textures and marks are part of her unique work and should be embraced.

Small Cup
by Rosa Maria Kulzer x M AAH
diameter 7cm / height 7cm
Small coffee cup with a thin hand drawn black line
The original motivation of Rosa Maria's work is the enthusiasm for the material clay and for vessels. The different mixtures of treated clay and the various chamotte give the objects a special colouring. This uniqueness is amplified by the variation of the surface design. It is a tribute to the clay, a tribute to the raw material itself, the clay presents itself through simple forms in its full shape: gentle and smooth, rough and grooved. For the design of an ideal interior, both decorative and everyday use objects are created, which one likes to touch, caress and consciously perceive.
The coffee cup is nice in the hand and will be your everyday favourite.

The rug 'Shadow Light' is part of the 'stil' handwoven mohair rugs collection
The 'stil' collection of hand-woven mohair rugs is a collaboration between M AAH and South African textile studio FRANCES V.H. The 'Shadow Light' rug is available as made to order only. Please allow up to 8 to 12 weeks for the weaving, or up to 14 weeks for the biggest size.
The rug in this image is 120 x 180 cm. The biggest possible size is 290 x 435 cm. The dimensions of the rugs depend on the proportions of the design. For made to order rugs, the advised price is €1.098,00 per m².
The rugs are made out of mohair. Mohair is a natural material, colours may slightly vary and perfect imperfections are part of the process. Over time all materials will fade in strong sunlight. Our rugs are reversible and it is advised to turn them from time to time. The hand-dying process makes rugs less colour fast.
Handmade mohair carpets offer excellent durability and should last a lifetime if properly cared for. Attend to stains and spillages immediately. Mop the affected area gently using a solution of non aggressive soap and cool water. Avoid steam cleaning as colours may run. Dry on a flat surface.

Sculpture Ceramic
by Sylvie Enjalbert
diameter 42cm / height 34cm
A hand built object of art like an echo of ancient pots. Rust colour.
The volumes created by Sylvie Enjalbert are like echoes, translations of something both original and universal: they are the evocations of pots. Ancient pots held water, grain, food; they served to store, to carry or to cook; they contained some sort of nourishment. Thus, a dialogue can be established between the everyday object and the work of art.
Through slow and meticulous work, I am trying to reach a form which appears simple and self-evident, as if it couldn’t be any other way. The search for balance starts at the base of the pot and continues through its entire form. The time taken in their making radiates from these pieces, clothing them in tranquility. Minimalist, each tiny handle, each little, carefully placed ridge catches the light and directs the gaze towards a lingering contemplation.

The surface of her containers show movements like little waves, created by the imprint of my thumb. These irregularities reveal the individual soul of the piece; the simple trace of a finger indicating movement and life itself. Her creations carry both ancestral and contemporary resonances, striving after universality.

Cup Ceramic
by Tomasz Niedziolka
diameter 11cm / height 11cm
Grey green and brown coloured ceramic cup, wood fired.
(I think) Teabowl enhances the taste, the satiated taste, aesthetic and sensational taste. Is an object with which we spend time. The physical presence affects even when not using it. Standing, and being next to us every day, produces an aura of calm, after which we can always reach for brewing tea. Then the visual experience is combined with the spiritual in harmony.
Pot/ Vessel is the archetype of support, carrying, it is designed to bring out the qualities of tea, it should definitely not quench them.
It is amazing to me that it is about working without any coercion or putting on a previously conceived vision. All I am trying to do is not to disturb, not design, on the contrary, accept what I participate in. Working on the potter's wheel, for me, it is no different from anything spiritual work.
There is a kind of mantra that the artist performs to get into a state of non-being. As in any creative act, it's about forgetting yourself, becoming a banner, a manifestation of the inscrutable.
